What Are Porcelain Veneers and How Do They Work?
Porcelain veneers (thin porcelain coverings) are custom-made shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve their shape, color, size, or alignment. Each veneer is crafted from high-quality dental ceramic that mimics the translucency and texture of natural enamel, creating results that look and feel like your own teeth.
At Berkshire Smile Studio, we use advanced digital scanning and design technology to plan your porcelain veneers in Pittsfield, MA with precision. Our CEREC PrimeScan captures a detailed digital impression of your teeth, allowing us to design veneers that fit your smile perfectly before any preparation begins.

Are Porcelain Veneers Right for You?
Not Sure If You Qualify?
What to Expect During Your Porcelain Veneer Treatment
Consultation and Smile Design
Your visit begins with a thorough evaluation of your teeth and a conversation about the results you want to achieve. Using our CEREC PrimeScan, we capture a precise digital impression of your smile, allowing you to preview your new look before any work begins. This is your chance to ask questions and feel confident about your plan.
Gentle Tooth Preparation
Once your design is finalized, we gently prepare your teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel to make room for your veneers. Local anesthesia keeps you completely comfortable throughout this process. Temporary veneers protect your teeth while your custom porcelain shells are being crafted.
Custom Fabrication
Your veneers are crafted from high-quality dental porcelain to match the exact shade, shape, and translucency we designed together. Every detail is checked to ensure a precise fit. This step typically takes one to two weeks.
Bonding and Final Reveal
At your final visit, we carefully place each veneer and make any fine adjustments for fit and comfort. Once bonded, your veneers become a permanent part of your smile. You will leave with a natural-looking result you can see and feel immediately.

What to Expect After Your Porcelain Veneers
First 24 to 48 Hours
You may notice some mild sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures, which is completely normal as your teeth adjust to the new veneers. Stick with softer foods during this initial period and avoid biting into anything very hard. Most patients feel comfortable returning to their regular routine the same day.
First One to Two Weeks
Any initial sensitivity typically fades within the first week or two. Your bite will feel more natural as you get used to the shape and feel of your veneers. Continue brushing and flossing as usual; porcelain veneers respond well to standard oral hygiene. Every patient heals at their own pace, and your experience may vary slightly. We provide you with a personalized aftercare plan and clear instructions, and our team is always available if questions come up.
We are here to help.
